Saving souls – saving the planetThis course focuses on all of you as a person, your fellow human beings and the world. Our desire is for you to develop your spirit, body, and mind together with others, and grow stronger in every way.We always start with ourselves – that we have a plan for who we are, where is our identity, how we care for ourselves, and what we desire for our lives.
We use the Bible as our source of knowledge- and inspiration along with general knowledge about good physical and mental health in order to develop throughout the school year.
We expand our horizons and challenge ourselves to achieve exciting experiences through sailing and hiking within Norway.
We develop through basic leadership training which equips us to lead both ourselves and others.
Our half-year course starts in January 2021. Travels and tripsThe start-up seminar in January will take place at Jeløy; get to know your fellow students and the local community. Towards the end of January the whole school will go to Hemsedal for a few days for downhill or cross-country skiing.
TromsøWe travel to the “exotic north" and the city of Tromsø!
Your Time in Tromsø
Located more than 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, Tromsø is a destination unlike any other. With hundreds of snow-capped mountains, long summer nights, endless beautiful coastlands and beautiful wildlife, the likes of which you cannot find anywhere else in the world, a visit to Tromsø promises to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The city is often referred to as the “Paris of the North”, “The City of the Arctic”, or “The Gateway to the Arctic Ocean”. The names come from the city’s history as a commercial city, nightlife city and starting place for expeditions of various kinds.
And in the middle of all of this Arctic beauty you’ll find the work of The Salvation Army. Each year the Tromsø corps serves thousands of people in a variety of ways; meeting human needs in Jesus’ name without discrimination. It is here, where beauty and brokenness collide, that the “Saved-to-serve” group will spend two weeks. During the group’s time in Tromsø they will bear witness to the endless beauty of Tromsø while serving the least and the lost within the city. This experience promises to reveal more about the God who is high above in the heavens and who is also in the valley among us.
“Will you go to His feet and place yourself entirely at His disposal?”
